In July 2012, Trendwatching.com has published a recent trend named “Newizm”. This trend must be considered carefully. Since the number of new product are increasing year by year and people want to try “the new one”. The main insight behind this behaviour is to “discover the unknown”. This is a very common insight of all times but the main difference is that, not only is a selective part of people able to do it, but the majority can. The enabler of this, is the power of technology, internet and social media.
What industries are affected by this trend? My answer is “all of them”. For instance, “Ready to Wear” is one of them. Just because of “Newizm”, there are nearly countless seasons in ready to wear since people want to see “the new one”. Mobile phones, home appliances, furniture, food and beverage and many other industries are influenced by this trend and the power of Newizm will increase year by year.
